How Rhinoshield Works

Two-Coat Installation

We use a two-coat installation process. After the surface of your building is prepped and ready, we apply our primer coat that will seal, be waterproof, provide a bonding agent for the ceramic finish coat, and can fill up to 1/16” cracks on the exterior of your home. The ceramic finish coat can be tinted to over 1,500 colors and is put on thick, about 100 square feet per gallon. Some areas may require brushing or back rolling of the ceramic finish coat.

Our Coating Resists Wisconsin Weather Elements

Rhino Shield is a ceramic elastomeric coating, it looks like regular house paint but is applied eight to nine times thicker. Because it is so thick and seals so thoroughly, it gives your building hardy resistance to mold, mildew, algae, and any other issues caused by water exposure. It can be tinted over 1,500 colors and is more resistant to UV rays and fading than normal house paints. Rhino Shield also boasts a Class A Fire Rating.

How Our Coating Was Developed

Rhino Shield is not a paint. Our chemists believed that traditional paints weren’t adequate for exterior house painting and that ceramics were the key to durability and solar ray reflectivity. They also knew that breathability was an essential characteristic for longevity. The product took us years to develop combines elastomeric acrylic resins with urethane resins, resulting in a tough surface that resists cracking because it remains flexible. The thick rubber-like membrane uses adhesion and bonding to become part of the substrate.

Why Do Residents and Business Owners Overwhelmingly Prefer Rhino Shield by Wisconsin Coating Professionals?

25-Year Warranty

Our 25 year warranty on workmanship and quality ensures that your investment is protected. If you happen to sell your home in the next 25 years, the warranty transfers to the new homeowners, potentially earning you more in the sale.

Bonds Completely

With typical exterior paint, moisture can penetrate the paint film and get behind it and cause the wood to swell, leaving blisters, cracking, or peeling. Rhino Shield exterior paint bonds completely to the surface of your home, so you don't have to worry about peeling and repainting. Our APS primer is unlike any primer on the market in terms of adhesion, penetration, and water sealing.

Helps Repel Water

Rhino Shield is a high build formula that meets the Wisconsin wind driven rain specification. This helps protect your home from the strongest storms and is ideal for coastal environments.

Can Help Reduce Energy Cost

This ceramic coating system offers an R-value equivalence of 6.89 and is classified as a LOW E coating. This helps to insulate your home which can lower your energy bills, saving you money.

Resists Fading

You may think that after 25 years your home's color would fade from sun damage. Due to colorants used in the paint, some colors feature UV protection to help resist fading making sure your home's color stays bright and vibrant.

Resists Algae & Mildew

Additives in the multi-layered exterior paint provide superior algae and mildew resistance to avoid causing harmful damage to your home that leads to time-consuming and expensive repairs.

Allows Wood to Breathe

Although Rhino Shield exterior paint bonds completely to your home's surface, it also allows the wood to breathe which is how it prevents chipping, cracking, and peeling common with other paints.

Looks Like Fresh Paint

Our exterior paint gives your home a beautiful, natural look. Our endless variety of color options ensures that your home will look as beautiful and fresh on Day 1 as it will in 25 years. That's our guarantee!

BASF Tested

Rhino Shield has been extensively tested and certified to ASTM standards by top laboratories including BASF, Momentum, Atlas Labs, and UL certifications. Ongoing testing ensures consistent quality and performance. Rhino Shield exterior paint testing includes accelerated aging tests and confirmed that our product performs as well as we say it will.
